Bill's Newscast: New Beginnings Featured

First new mayor in 14 years in Prescott Valley.

It’s a new beginning for the Prescott Valley Town Council.

During last fall’s elections, Councilwoman Jodi Rooney decided to run for the State Legislature while Councilman Michael Whiting decided to run for Mayor.  Rooney lost in her race and Whiting was defeated by new Mayor Kell Palguta.  Mayor Harvey Skoog opted not to seek reelection after his term ended December 31st.  With Rooney and Whiting also not seeking reelection, Don Packard and Kendall Schumacher ran unopposed for their seats.  The 3 new members will be sworn in at 5:30 tonight.  During a recent live appearance on Talk of the Town on KQNA 1130 AM and 99.9 and 95.5 FM, Palguta described one of his main goals.  Palguta says growth is inevitable in Prescott Valley. The Town Council meeting will be held in the Library Auditorium, located on Skoog Boulevard.

Cottonwood Police are looking for a 50 year old woman wanted on fraud charges.

Sergeant Monica Kuhlt explains 50 year old Traci Ann Koelzer hasn’t been seen since detectives launched an investigation into missing funds in April of last year. Kuhlt explains the Old Town Association has reported a huge financial loss. Anyone who has information on Koelzer’s whereabouts is asked to call Cottonwood Police at (928) 634-4246.
