Yavapai County Attorney’s Office Announces Plan To Launch Pretrial Diversion Program For Drug Offenders

The Yavapai County Attorney’s Office announced today plans to launch a Pretrial Diversion Program. The purpose of the program will be to provide an alternative method to hold low level offenders—whose offense has a nexus to substance abuse—accountable for violations of the law through participation in an evidence-based education or treatment program that targets factors related to recidivism. The Program is intended to effectively redirect limited criminal justice resources, bring about participants’ rehabilitation, and give rise to safer communities. The Program will divert criminal cases from formal court proceedings and allow for the dismissal of charges if the Program is successfully completed.

The County Attorney’s Office seeks to contract with qualified behavioral health providers to deliver the education and treatment to clients in the program. A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Yavapai County Education Services Agency, Giffin/Taylor Conference Room, located at 2970 Centerpointe East, Prescott, AZ 86301.

The purpose of the Pre-Proposal Conference is to provide interested parties the opportunity to present questions and obtain clarification about the Pretrial Diversion Program. While attendance at this conference will not be a prerequisite to submitting a proposal, entities who intend to submit a proposal are encouraged to attend. Bring a copy of the Draft Scope of Work with you; it is available on the website at: http://www.yavapai.us/coatty/Programs/Pretrial-Diversion-Program. Any changes resulting from this conference will be reflected in the final Scope of Work and solicitation. The website will be updated with additional information as it becomes available.

Those wishing to attend the pre-proposal conference must RSVP by August 28, 2019, by sending an email to:This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Providers are encouraged to send all questions in writing, in advance of the conference, to Debra Olsen. All such questions will be addressed at the conference.
