Elderly Woman Dies After Being By Vehicle Featured

Vehicle vs Pedestrian Accident in Fry’s Supermarket Parking Lot

On Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at about 11:35 A.M, a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident occurred at Fry’s Food Store, 3100 N. Glassford Hill Road in Prescott Valley.  

A 2015 KIA Sport Utility Vehicle, driven by 83 year old Sandra L. Nagy, struck a pedestrian, 101 year old Esther H. Dorsch, in the parking lot causing her to become wedged beneath the vehicle.  Prescott Valley Police Officers, along with Central Yavapai Fire and Medical personnel, responded to extricate the victim.  The victim, a Prescott Valley resident, was transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center for treatment and later flown to a Phoenix area hospital for additional treatment. 

On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, the Prescott Valley Police department was notified that the victim, Esther H. Dorsch, passed away at the Phoenix hospital as a result of her injuries.

The incident is still under investigation and no charges have presently been made.

The police department encourages every driver to be especially attentive when driving through heavily travelled parking areas.
